Books are the ladder of human progress. In order to guide students to read books, cultivate students' good reading habits and create a strong reading atmosphere, on the afternoon of April 26th, the Chinese Lesson Preparation Group of Grade 8 in the Junior High Department of the east campus held a speech contest with the theme of ‘The Fragrance of Books Accompanies My Growth’.
Before the activity, each class organized the preliminary contest according to the rules of the activity, and elected a representative to participate in the grade final. In the competition, the participants shared their reading stories, their insights and gains with vivid language and lively and rich body movements. More noticeably, some of the contestants' speeches were generous and impassionated, some were eloquent, and some were sincere and moving, which showcased the positive mental outlook of Anqing Foreign Language School's students. After the fierce competition, the judges selected the winners.
In brief, this activity not only enriched the students' campus life, stimulated their interest and hobby of reading, but also let the fragrance of books overflow the campus.
